In the chat yesterday we talked about perhaps doing Tjörn Runt. Here is a proposal of this race
start 58.076 11.79
mark 1 Rönnäng 57.928 11.568 (pass south west)
mark 2 Björholmen 58.0575 11.515 (pass north)
finish 58.1 11.67

This is nice, I actually sailed Tall ships back in 89 from Hamburg to Malmö on Atene.
First we had so much wind so the race was postponed and we were stuck in Cuxhaven. Then around Skagen there was no wind and we were swiming and trying to tow the boat with the dingy.

One more point, they have actually shortened the race to finish in Smögen this year. Perhaps we could change the course to be like in the attached pic.

The two marks in the water (Ulholmens kalv and Mjölkskärsfyr) are supposed to be passed on the inside, e.g. mark on starbord.

Hi,
Looks nice and yes it is a hard corse, not much sleep if we do it (not for the once doing it IRL either, it is a two-hand race)
The two marks in the water (Ulholmens kalv and Mjölkskärsfyr) are supposed to be passed on the inside, e.g. mark on starbord. They are there to keep the race as a category 4 race, close to shore

There are some unofficial rankings /ranking ideas on wiz' site. I really like the newbie ranking and I think that we should make such a ranking official to make it more interesting for new SOLers. If we do that we could have more races for the calculation of the SYC ranking. This would make the ranking a bit more stable and would allow racers to do some DNS DNF races without a free-fall in the ranking (speaking from own experience)

Comment on proposed rankings: I like the idea.
