Sailonline is delighted to announce its fourth official buddy-up with Svendborg Amatør Sejlklub in Denmark for the challenging inshore race around the island of Funen, "Silverrudder - Challenge of the Sea".
The most likely sailing direction of the race will be announced at Skipper's Briefing starting at 15:00 UTC on 19th September. This direction will be published as soon as it's known in an In-Race message, for the race on 20 September.

Since inception in 2012 when a handful of boats participated, this single-handed race has become the world’s largest single-handed event.
This year the list of entrants shows 428 boats registered for start. Sailonline will be racing a Seascape 18, the boat type that is most widely represented (16 in 2019), so we will have direct competition.

Sailonline’s race will be opening Sunday 15 September at 08:00 UTC for pre-race practice and will start with the real Silverrudder fleet's Seascape 18's on Friday 20 September 2019 at 08:00 UTC.

Cross the Convergence 2026 - Masirah to Chagos


Having crossed, re-crossed and re-re-crossed the Convergence Zones of the Pacific and the Atlantic, we now face our second crossing of the Convergence Zone of the World’s third great equator-spanning sea, the Indian Ocean, taking us from the channel between Masirah Island and the Oman mainland to the Chagos Archipelago. It’s 1900nm and we’ll be sailing our very fine Archer 78, and won’t mention that both locations (of departure and arrival) are heavily militarized and the why’s and what next’s concerning that – mindful as always of SOL Netiquette.

Carib Rum Run 2026


Ahoy, ye landlubbers and seasoned salts! Welcome back to Sailonline’s legendary Carib Rum Run, perfectly timed to kick off on International Talk Like a Pirate Day, 19 September!

This year, we command the magnificent Falkun—the ultimate high-tech superyacht modeled after the iconic Maltese Falcon. This 1759nm slalom takes us through the Caribbean’s rum islands to plunder barrels from local distilleries and deliver them to the rum-parched sands of Cancun.

Join SYC before the finish to disguise yer boat with a pirate name for this race only. Hoist the sails, sharpen yer cutlasses, and plot your winning course!

Shearwater - Rio de la Plata to Irish Sea 2026

Welcome to the fourth leg of our MIG series. This time we're racing the Sooty Shearwater on their migration from the breeding grounds in South America to the northern Atlantic.
