Sailonline.org partners with Royal Queenland Yacht Squadron and the TP52 'Envy Scooters'to bring the virtual Lendlease Brisbane to Hamilton Island Yacht Race to armchair sailing navigation enthusiasts around the world.
Race start time: Friday 2nd August 2019 at 1100 AEST (0100 UTC)

Sailonline.org is pleased to announce that it is once again partnering with Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron to bring the inaugural Lendlease Brisbane to Hamilton Island Yacht Race right to your fingertips (or mouse!).

The Lendlease Brisbane to Hamilton Island Yacht Race on Sailonline will run at the same time as the real Race allowing armchair sailors to sail against the actual boats in the Race.

Having done a few Brisbane to Keppel races with RQYS over the years, this time Sailonline is using the polar of a TP52 and will race against the local TP52 'Envy Scooters'.


Envy Scooters

'Envy Scooters' is owned and sailed by RQYS Vice Commodore, Barry Cuneo. Having just completed the Sydney to Gold Coast Race and taking out the overall handicap win as well as IRC1 and ORCI1 Division wins, this will be the boat to beat. 'Envy Scooters' was also overall winner on handicap of the Brisbane to Gladstone Race Sailonline did with QCYC earlier in the year.

In cooperation with the race’s tracker provider, YB Tracking, Sailonline is hoping to display all 16 real boats on its virtual racing screen so armchair navigators can see how they are faring against the real fleet. This dramatically enhances the interactive experience and is a great way for family and friends of crew members to be involved while following the yacht.

The virtual Lendlease Brisbane to Hamilton Island Yacht Race on Sailonline.org is open for practice now. Everyone is invited to come and join in so that they will gain the most fun when the real race starts.

The Vineyard Race 2026


For the 16th consecutive year, our SOLers are invited to tackle this iconic 250nm overnighter. The classic route charges out through the sound, leaves Buzzards Bay Light to starboard, rounds Block Island to starboard, and heads home.

This year's weapon of choice is the Beneteau First 47.7. A proven performer since its 2012 SOL debut, this Farr-designed cruiser/racer excels at leading real and virtual handicap fleets. Success will demand sharp tactical navigation, so watch the polars closely to conquer the sound's shifting winds!

Shearwater - Rio de la Plata to Irish Sea 2026

Welcome to the fourth leg of our MIG series. This time we're racing the Sooty Shearwater on their migration from the breeding grounds in South America to the northern Atlantic. New Ice Age 2026 - Scott Base to Neumayer Station


To complete our DN circumnavigation of Antarctica and our 4-race ice-boat marathon series, we continue clockwise, now departing from Scott Base back to Neumayer Station. It’s about 3500nm back as well, which, as said if there’s wind at all, should, well-wrapped in your DN-cockpits, not take you much more than five days. And remember: charts down here are unreliable – what is land and what is ice?!
