JB - I'd like to set up a test for that, I might have some time for that tomorrow.

Viva Kroppy.

If I can help you on the test, I'm here for you (pertisjm@net.sapo.pt).
Sail Fair.
You can see the same differences (that is the ones you see right after the start) varying during the course of a race. Some people refer to these as "server burbs". However, to me it seems like positions and DTF converge towards a real and fair outcome towards the end of a race.
My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I'm right.
Jumping happened to me twice, both accidentally.

1) with a great advantage near Cape Horn on the NY-San Francisco race where I jumped a small island during the night. I would have lost a lot of time if BBQ'ed.
2) with great loss on the SOL WorldRace 2011-12 - leg 3 near Musandam, where I jumped on DC in the inside of a mark. The boat didn't BBQ near the mark and went on and it took me more than a day to jump again and round the mark properly.

This shows that it is totally unfair to jump even if you don't intend to do it. Therefore, I'm totally in favor of banning jumping by a code change.

Extract from our own website description of what Sailonline is

Sailonline.org is a community-owned sailing navsim game providing a realistic, entertaining and educational platform for those who love the sea and sailing, wherever they may be around the globe.

So. My vote is to continue tweaking the code in order to make the platform even more realistic

Incidently. I have tried to analyse my jumps and have used a practice race to try determine any consistency in the jumps, to no avail. Although I did manage to jump. Plus I am too 'chicken' to actually try this in a race.

Red Eye - Myth of Malham 2025

In 1947, Hugh McLean & Sons of Gourock, Scotland built a radical racing yacht for John Illingworth, soon-to-be Commodore of the RORC, to a design by Laurent Giles. With a masthead rig, giving her ‘free’ sail area per the rules of the time, and short overhangs reducing pitching, Myth of Malham went on to win The Fastnet that year and again in 1949, and to compete in numerous Admiral's Cups. In 1958, in honour of the yacht, the Myth of Malham race was conceived - a mini-Fastnet to the first lighthouse on a rock west of Cowes, Eddystone, rather than the second, to be held in non-Fastnet years. IRL this year it has been raced already, but this stops us not from “Red Eye” racing its online 230nm in Fareast 31Rs, leaving how to deal with the Isle of Wight open to your own discretion.

Africa by Sea 2025 - Maputo to Mogadishu

The fifth leg of our exploration of Africa By Sea takes us north along the length of the Continent’s succulent sub-tropical and tropical Indian Ocean coast. Much fought over by traders and colonists both well-before and after a Portuguese expedition under the command of Vasco da Gama first sailed there from Europe back in the 16th century, it is yet to be properly explored as a yachting destination. With plenty of islands off- and inshore, small and very large, there is much to interrupt your 1900nm voyage and visit in your Swan 65, from Maputo to Mogadishu! Race #1858
