To SOL Admins:

Is there currently an API or are there any plans to expose SOL races over an API? There may be people interested in building mobile clients, flash-free web clients etc?
This is a fantastic website, thank you for building it and running it!

There is an API, but it is not publicly documented (actually, it is not documented at all). Many people (including myself) have used this to create third party tools. There is an android client that uses this API. I believe only the process of registering in a race was a problem, otherwise a complete client can be built.

Significant work has been done with relation to a non-flash client (HTLM5). If you are interested in working on such a client (as sol volunteer or as a private project) then please do get in touch (via the admin@ e-mail address, or contact me directly via huib@). We would love to get you started. Also for other 3rd party tools I offer my help in working with the API. I always do this with one condition: the tool should be publicly available to everyone for free. I have helped Kipper for example when he was getting started with his DC checker and/or auto grib downloader tool(s).

This month’s TIMED race takes us to the shallow waters of Palk Bay located between India and Sri Lanka. Sail the impressive MC 38 around a roughly 140 nm course through two narrow channels before returning to the start/finish line in Jaffna.
This is a TIMEDrace so you may RE-REGISTER HEREto try again after finishing a run. You will have two weeks to test your skill and decision making after the race opens.

The British Isles Circumnavigation 2026


The British Isles Circumnavigation is here! Inviting skippers to take on an epic 1,720nm clockwise voyage around Britain and Ireland! Starting and finishing in Cowes, the course passes some of the most iconic landmarks in offshore sailing, including Fastnet Rock, Tearaght Lighthouse, Black Rock, St. Kilda and Muckle Flugga before the long run home. Racing in our fast and versatile TP52, this Super-Buddy Championship race will reward smart routing, changing weather strategy and sustained concentration over every mile. Good luck!
