All,

Had some trouble uploading the kml file so at the risk of a double post here goes:

I designed a 9' Dyer Dhow polar that Jan converted to real math so that SOL could host a virtual Frostbite distance race. Normally we hold 5-10 races a day if the wind cooperates but I don't think that's possible in SOL's framework.

This course is ~18nm long so if the wind is good could take as little as 6 hours but is likely to take 12.

Here is the Polar Diagram for the dinghy. Tx to Bonk for doing the math crunching and viz based on my basic TWA/Speed table
