I would like to ask the Race Committee a couple of questions about how the "Ocean 2021 Championship" will be managed:
Who decides to participate in the "Ocean 2021 Championship", will finally have the opportunity to see the complete list of all 12 scheduled races or will it be possible to see only the 3 races of the first quarter as for the previous editions?
Is there a guarantee that all the races scheduled for the "Ocean 2021 Championship" will be in open water, without unnecessary marks under the coast and with start and finish lines free of obstacles?
Thanks.

ops ...
I apologize, I didn't realize that I entered in sol with the SOL account and not as SCARABOCCHIO ...

Hello there. Since i think some ocean races like the whale one are already for years on the agenda, and all this is done by volunteers, maybe it is a plan/idea you design 12 races without marks, and deliver that as a alternative?
So then other Sollers can react on that?

best, Dikke
Your desire for open water Ocean races has been noted for some time. The calendar for 2021Q1 will be published next week and I hope that you will be pleased with what SRC has been able to organise for the Ocean races as well as for Other races in that quarter.
The desire for open water races in the Ocean series is part of the official Management plan for 2021 and everyone has committed to do their best within given and known constraints. I can confirm that in 2021 the Ocean races in general will be more ‘Open Water’ than before but I cannot guarantee that all of them will be like that.
Thanks,
I’m happy that my wish, and of many other Solers, for open water races is part of the official Management plan 2021 and that next year the Ocean races, in general, will be more 'Open Water’.

It would be great to know all the 2021 Championship Calendar at the beginning of the year (as it happens in real life) and I hope this tip can be useful for further SOL improvements.

scara, as you know i not a fan or markers on ocean races, but for example, the abu dhabi <> china race, that has a mark near that strait of mallaka. IS that allowed according to your rules?

Red Eye - Key Lime Pie-gatta 2025

Opposite the Bahamas at the tip of the Florida peninsula, we find the Florida Keys, a honky-tonk arpeggio of islands, where another SOL classic, the Key Lime Pie-gatta, so-called after the famous local condensed-milk-based tart speciality, awaits to be navigated once again. We’ll race its “Red Eye” 180nm in very-American Santa Cruz 52s, ignoring such artefacts as bridges, causeways and piers joining the keys one to the other and to the mainland!

Sail Around Turkey 2025

Welcome to the 11th running of one of Sailonline's most iconic races, where our fleet races the length of the Turkish coastline from Hopa (the easternmost harbour on Turkey’s Black Sea coast) to Iskenderun (the easternmost harbour on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast). It’s a 1,372nm race and aboard our classic, 1st decade of the 21st Century, version 2 IMOCA 60, you should be able to get around the course in less than a week. That is if, of course, once you get out of the Black Sea you don’t stop to enjoy the sights or a BBQ or two in the Golden Horn, or on the Marble Islands, now land-locked Troy or Gallipoli or any of the myriad Aegean islands, that you shall have to carefully navigate past.
