When I choose different resolution in Sailplanner, I got very different routes! Why is that?
I give you 5 screendumps, one for each resolution. They don´t make sense for me.

Imagine that the wind is totally constant and that your target is somewhere downwind. What is the best route? The answer is that there are infinitely many best routes! So from your screenshot it is quite hard to tell what is causing the behavior without scrolling the time-slider but you should most likely start off a little to the east, don´t you think?!

Jakob, theese screendumps are made within 2 minutes. Start and end of route is exactely the same.

If the Low resolution route suggests 15 changes of my course, why is the Medium high resolution route suggesting only 2 changes? And with a very different route?

Wouldn´t it be the other way? The higher resolution - the more changes of the course in the route? And more like each other than in this example?

I have recognized this several times. I think something must be wrong?

There is nothing restraining the router from making very many course changes, course changes are simply not "punished" in the calculations. So far I see nothing strange in your plots.

Red Eye - Myth of Malham 2025

In 1947, Hugh McLean & Sons of Gourock, Scotland built a radical racing yacht for John Illingworth, soon-to-be Commodore of the RORC, to a design by Laurent Giles. With a masthead rig, giving her ‘free’ sail area per the rules of the time, and short overhangs reducing pitching, Myth of Malham went on to win The Fastnet that year and again in 1949, and to compete in numerous Admiral's Cups. In 1958, in honour of the yacht, the Myth of Malham race was conceived - a mini-Fastnet to the first lighthouse on a rock west of Cowes, Eddystone, rather than the second, to be held in non-Fastnet years. IRL this year it has been raced already, but this stops us not from “Red Eye” racing its online 230nm in Fareast 31Rs, leaving how to deal with the Isle of Wight open to your own discretion.

The fifth leg of our exploration of Africa By Sea takes us north along the length of the Continent’s succulent sub-tropical and tropical Indian Ocean coast. Much fought over by traders and colonists both well-before and after a Portuguese expedition under the command of Vasco da Gama first sailed there from Europe back in the 16th century, it is yet to be properly explored as a yachting destination.
