After 120 hours of racing not all is decided. AWol did manage to hold on and win the Lightning class, while Chila lost his lead in the Andren class and is now chasing Mantilla and Sisquillo with still 190 nm to go. In Windigo, HolidayTours snatched first place from Simondo, but they too have a long way to go, nearly 220 nm.

These will be the last rankings at least for a while. I will keep you posted as the trailing classes will see their winners across the finish if the race is kept alive that long. Fair sailing to those still underway (me included :-))

Here's another update about the current situation in the IMSYC. The Andren class has now been won by Sisquillo, Barney went on to win in the Close Haul, K3 took the honours in the Normandy I and HolidayTours sailed to a narrow victory in Windigo.

Still undecided are: Skuldelev 4 (Rundo leads) and Snailboat (Jylle) classes. Compare how you did against the other members in your class here.

A very big cheer for all still underway.

Cross the Convergence 2026 - Masirah to Chagos


Having crossed, re-crossed and re-re-crossed the Convergence Zones of the Pacific and the Atlantic, we now face our second crossing of the Convergence Zone of the World’s third great equator-spanning sea, the Indian Ocean, taking us from the channel between Masirah Island and the Oman mainland to the Chagos Archipelago. It’s 1900nm and we’ll be sailing our very fine Archer 78, and won’t mention that both locations (of departure and arrival) are heavily militarized and the why’s and what next’s concerning that – mindful as always of SOL Netiquette.
