The first in the Mini 800nm series of matchraces will be held this evening, Sunday, 2 May 2010, and will follow the proposal of africa:

START: 1800utc

FROM: SOL race start

ROUTE: Anti-clockwise round the island of Ile de Re (via the waypoints shown on the attached GE pic)

FINISH: The beach that stretches from 46.04 / -1.06 to 46.00 / -1.06

AS ALWAYS EVERYONE IS WELOME TO JOIN IN!!

which was then qualified to state:

ROUTE: Anti-clockwise round the triangle island at 46.0/-1.17 then anti-clockwise round the little island at 45.96/-1.12 then back but clockwise round the first island

New version with fabulous arrows thanks to 76Trombones..

Fair winds to all! :-)

Since I seem not to be able to remove the old atachment,the new one is the one with underscore...

To decrease confusion :

Matchrace for maybe tomorrow,4th of May,if race is delayed:

Round Triangle island,leave island to starboard,round tiny sland south,leave to starboard and around Triangle island again,leave to port this time...

Start and finish like Matchrace 2...

Thessaloniki to Port Said 2026

Welcome back to the Eastern Mediterranean for the fifth race of our Magical Mediterranean Series. Only marginally less unlikely to be ever raced in real life during SOL’s lifetime than our previous race from Tobruk to Iskenderun, this 710nm race takes us from Greece’s ancient northern port of Thessaloniki through the Aegean island maze, south east into the Levantine Sea to a finish in modern Port Said, in splendid Swan 65s!

Sailonline is delighted to have been invited again to partner with the King Shaka Yacht Club (KSYC) of South Africa to bring a virtual version of the Tuzi Tekwini Ocean Raceto our online community.
The Tuzi Tekwini Ocean Race is a near 90 nautical mile race down the east coast of South Africa from the port of Richards Bay to the port of Durban.
