Board » Technical Support » Map width of new races

Ahoi SOL-Gods!

I don't know if this is the right place, but since it's somehow technical I post here:

Do you think it's possible to limit the width of the map of new games?I'm using a display with 1024x768 pixels, and in some races the map seems to be wider,so if I want to be able to read chat tab I have to move the view this far right, that left side control buttons hardly stick out. This way I can't read the name of boats under the crosshair not at all anymore...
In the ongoing transat race, browser width is optimal, the japaneese race is about 50-100 pixels too wide. For me a maximum browserwidth of 1000px is great, cause my internet connection is a "thin" one and I like to monitor network flow to catch interuptions...
I think I won't be the only one with a "old fashioned" computer setup so I guess there are more then just me dealing with this issue.
And I have to report another (for me) realy minor issue:
When I want to watch race standings via Races/View Leaderboard I dont see the ranking in firefox browsers at all, wheras the list displays well in the grafic mode of links2 browser.I use Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.1.9) Gecko/20100414 firefox/3.0.8 (like Firefox/3.5.9),and firefox 3.6,both the same result.
Screenshots or further information easy possible on request.

Thanks in advance, fair winds and may summertime soon be with you,Roland,Captain of the virtual raft stoertebaeker

Red Eye - Myth of Malham 2025

In 1947, Hugh McLean & Sons of Gourock, Scotland built a radical racing yacht for John Illingworth, soon-to-be Commodore of the RORC, to a design by Laurent Giles. With a masthead rig, giving her ‘free’ sail area per the rules of the time, and short overhangs reducing pitching, Myth of Malham went on to win The Fastnet that year and again in 1949, and to compete in numerous Admiral's Cups. In 1958, in honour of the yacht, the Myth of Malham race was conceived - a mini-Fastnet to the first lighthouse on a rock west of Cowes, Eddystone, rather than the second, to be held in non-Fastnet years. IRL this year it has been raced already, but this stops us not from “Red Eye” racing its online 230nm in Fareast 31Rs, leaving how to deal with the Isle of Wight open to your own discretion.

Africa by Sea 2025 - Maputo to Mogadishu

The fifth leg of our exploration of Africa By Sea takes us north along the length of the Continent’s succulent sub-tropical and tropical Indian Ocean coast. Much fought over by traders and colonists both well-before and after a Portuguese expedition under the command of Vasco da Gama first sailed there from Europe back in the 16th century, it is yet to be properly explored as a yachting destination. With plenty of islands off- and inshore, small and very large, there is much to interrupt your 1900nm voyage and visit in your Swan 65, from Maputo to Mogadishu! Race #1858
