Board » Technical Support » Logging in as SOL

I have looked all over the site and can find no way of logging in as SOL so that I may see finishes of the "practice racing". Whenever I try, I am already logged in as 'Rod', and can find no place to log in as anybody else.
It says I can log in as 'guest' as well as 'SOL', but I can find no place to do that either.
If it breaks, it's not strong enough--if it doesn't, it's too heavy.
Hi Rod,

have you logged out before? Otherwise you can't login :)

ciao

Thnx. Only wanted it as a technique for viewing the finishes of practice races. I am reaching the conclusion that the only way to get an accurate finish order is to take a screen shot just prior to the finish of #1 boat, and then measure the distance of each finisher from the line, but this will work only if all the boats are on the same course...and therefore the same speed.
Could the programming be extended to give a special client (or whatever) just for the practice races where the number of boats is usually less than 25. A one second time interval would be equally nice with all racers moving at the same time.
I realize that SOL is intended for ocean racing, BUT it is being used regularly for these 'practice' in-port races, before the main event starts.
If it breaks, it's not strong enough--if it doesn't, it's too heavy.
Best to use another browser. If you normally use FireFox, or Internet Explorer, or chrome...use another to log in as sol.
There are several, I normally use chrome, so when I want to log in as sol or guest, I open IE or FF or Opera. All are free and an easy download.
This way you can keep your log in in your usual browser, and view any race as sol or guest.

Iceland to the Falklands 2026

Welcome to an all-new route, the first of three Round the 'Old World' of Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia. To give each leg of the ROW a bit of length we'll try to hug the coasts as little as possible, so starting in Iceland our first leg of the series, which will also be the final leg of our Quarter 1 Ocean Championships takes us 7200nm to the Falklands, the full length of the Atlantic end to end. To make sure we'll get it done within the month we'll be sailing our Maxi Trimaran.
