I can see that exact URL as you say in chrome://net-internals. I'm pasting it into AdBlock/Options/Customize/Manually Edit Your Filters but it won't block the weather. The only block I can get is with www.sailonline.org/* which of course blocks everything.
I'm home now (and on Linux). I try again on Monday at work.
    Thanks for your help Outlaw.

    Good suggestion Outlaw.

    It didn't matter what I blocked; http://www.sailonline.org/*/xml/*
    http://www.sailonline.org/*/weather/*
    http://www.sailonline.org/site_media/*
non made any difference but of course http://www.sailonline.org/*
killed it completely confirming that the block was in fact working.
I'm guessing the weather request coming from flash may actually bypass Ad Block - is it even an http request? Or it may be that its waiting for more than just weather.

    Thanks for your help

  • Weather no updating

I'm behind a corporate firewall and I'm not able to login. The client gets stuck waiting for weather. Its been suggested before that a load balancing proxy will do this but I checked with IT and we don't have one of those. Any other suggestions?, ports?, protocols?, etc that I *might* be able to persuade IT to change for me?

    Thanks

I also confirm this bug. I'm using the beta, just set a course (no DCs) and went to bed. Next morning I was stalled with a twa of near zero.

    Cheers

  • Bug: DC on predictor.

Is this the right place for a bug report on the new client beta?

The orange dot on the predictor line doesn't update when the DC is edited. The dot remains in its original position. If you exit and restart the client the dot no longer appears. I guess it's only placed when the original DC cmd is sent?

Otherwise a truly excellent improvement to the client, thanks.

Mistli's Birthday BBQ Race 2025

Welcome to one of Sailonline's great traditions - the ofttimes slightly untimely celebration of SOLer Mistli's birthday on November 1, by way of a tricky race through the Stockholm Archipelago. To match the day that’s in it, this year correctly, we are providing you with a fleet of sleek 11 metre 1-designs (get it?) to slice through these (at least) 61.5nm of SLI-infested waters, and give you a fair chance that there will still be some beer left by the time you moor up by the jetty at Trosa!

Sinbad by Balloon 2025 - Carnarvon to Dondra

From here, our home in Bharatavarṣa is now north west of us – said Sinbad to his fellow balloonists. Perhaps we can ride the wind first further north, and then catch the winds that every year bring the rain, perhaps not. It’s 2600nm and we could be aloft awhile, so, Master el-Quarters, victuals only, no sandbags, provisioning the giant hamper. It will be not a picnic!
