    Hello,

Following my previous post, I eventually figured out how to connect qtVlm to a NMEA source. Brainaid's server definitely doesn't work.It sends a feed and qtVlm receives it, but it seems almost empty and qtVlm doesn't display any data.

I had to install CDchecker to sort out the question. Finding and installing on Linux the right version of CDchecker turned out to be another endeavor but I eventually managed it :-)

Ready now to give a try to SailOnLine :-)

    Hello,

I'm new to SOL and I am trying to connect the game to qtVlm ... with some difficulties :-)

I am using the brainaid proxy server to export NMEA data to qtVlm. The server is properly running and qtVlm receives now a NMEA feed (NMEA raw data window shows it).

The brainaid server receives data from a boat that is sailing in the "Shetland race 2021".

The problem is that nothing happens on the screen. The race WP are not shown, my boat is not positioned and all instrument are inactive.

Once qtVlm receives properly the NMEA feed, is there any other setting that is to be activated so that the feed can be processed concretly? Or maybe the feed itself doesn't contain the proper data?

Has anyone of you already had this kind of problem in the past?
  • Installing AGL in Linux
    Board » Technical Support
    Hello,

I would like to install AGL in Linux.

I tried to launch the AutoGribLoader 3 2 3.jar through the java -jar command, but got a bunch of errors. I suppose that there are some parameters to adjust first (paths?), but I don't know which and where. Could someone help?

    Thank you in advance.

Mistli's Birthday BBQ Race 2025

Welcome to one of Sailonline's great traditions - the ofttimes slightly untimely celebration of SOLer Mistli's birthday on November 1, by way of a tricky race through the Stockholm Archipelago. To match the day that’s in it, this year correctly, we are providing you with a fleet of sleek 11 metre 1-designs (get it?) to slice through these (at least) 61.5nm of SLI-infested waters, and give you a fair chance that there will still be some beer left by the time you moor up by the jetty at Trosa!

Sinbad by Balloon 2025 - Carnarvon to Dondra

From here, our home in Bharatavarṣa is now north west of us – said Sinbad to his fellow balloonists. Perhaps we can ride the wind first further north, and then catch the winds that every year bring the rain, perhaps not. It’s 2600nm and we could be aloft awhile, so, Master el-Quarters, victuals only, no sandbags, provisioning the giant hamper. It will be not a picnic!
