Slightly off topic here but I encountered a funny glitch the other day whan I set a new course.

I was about to tack, from 36 deg. TWA to -36 deg. TWA. I knew this in advance and set the new figure in the approproate box and made sure the correct radio button was enabled. However, I was waiting for the right moment to tack and so wandered off to the chat, the list of boats, steering, etc. Back and forth several times. When the right time came I once again checked the control panel - it was correctly filled in from before. I made my tack.

To my surprise the new TWA became -33.5 deg not -36 as I had set! Fortunately I saw this immedately and could correct so it was no issue really. But noe I wonder if there could be a bug that makes the control panel "forget" the radio button if the user "wanders off" like I did?

Having said this i again want to point out that I just love the job you all do developing the game and still think it's the best I've seen!

  • Wild idea for "quick races"

I participated in "Augustimånen" and really liked that race.

There was only one problem; the time needed to complete the race. Hence, I had to "park" my boat occasionally and resume sailing at a later time. Not very competitive.

For races like this, couldn't the race engine run on "compressed time", i.e. run the estimated, in this case, 32 hours in just, say, 5-6 hours instead (10 minutes per hour)?

First of all, let me express my deepest admiration for the new client and its rapid evolvment. I sincerely think this is just fantastic!

Finding errors is however always easy for those not involved in develpment and so I have one issue I really would like to stress; the possibility to set waypoints.

For me, that can't sit in front of the computer all the time, and sometimes not at all, this would mean a chance to have my boat to at least move in the right direction and/or be able to make a rounding without me having to watch over it like a hawk. So, I would very much appreciate such an enhancement!

I know this issue has been proposed before and I have read the answer that it's on the list but, call me nagging, I thought this deserved repeating.

Once again, though: Great job so far. You have by far the best online routing games available (and I've tried a few)!

Red Eye - Myth of Malham 2025

In 1947, Hugh McLean & Sons of Gourock, Scotland built a radical racing yacht for John Illingworth, soon-to-be Commodore of the RORC, to a design by Laurent Giles. With a masthead rig, giving her ‘free’ sail area per the rules of the time, and short overhangs reducing pitching, Myth of Malham went on to win The Fastnet that year and again in 1949, and to compete in numerous Admiral's Cups. In 1958, in honour of the yacht, the Myth of Malham race was conceived - a mini-Fastnet to the first lighthouse on a rock west of Cowes, Eddystone, rather than the second, to be held in non-Fastnet years. IRL this year it has been raced already, but this stops us not from “Red Eye” racing its online 230nm in Fareast 31Rs, leaving how to deal with the Isle of Wight open to your own discretion.

Africa by Sea 2025 - Maputo to Mogadishu

The fifth leg of our exploration of Africa By Sea takes us north along the length of the Continent’s succulent sub-tropical and tropical Indian Ocean coast. Much fought over by traders and colonists both well-before and after a Portuguese expedition under the command of Vasco da Gama first sailed there from Europe back in the 16th century, it is yet to be properly explored as a yachting destination. With plenty of islands off- and inshore, small and very large, there is much to interrupt your 1900nm voyage and visit in your Swan 65, from Maputo to Mogadishu! Race #1858
