Well said - Win. My feeling exactly ...I'm still at a loss for words for this, the parting of a friend on SOL..

This is such sad news of AGage's passing. He will be greatly missed...

Joan and I are leaving in 12 days to go cruising for 6-8 months. Internet will be spotty and probably not good for racing. I will check-in when able to advise on how much RUM is left on board. Its been a fun two years of SOL racing. Hope to pick it back up the summer of 2011. Until then stay off that green stuff it ruins your ranking..

Problem I'm having with this DNS scoring is, sometimes I'm not in a position to race but would like to join in the chat and watch the race. There needs to be a way to do this without being penalized.

So Jakob, If I register for a 1000km race and don't start those miles are not added to my total miles and doesn't affect my ranking?

Guys, I thought you said if we register and don't start the race DNS, this would not go against our overall scores. Looking at the SYC ranking for me, several races where counted even though I didn't start. Sometimes I join a race to chat since I don't have time to make the race.

Guys, under the latest software. While setting a TWA of -170deg the CC is showing 508 deg. Might have left out the -360 if greater than 360... Like what I'm seeing..

    Jim

Edit: BTW, I see this when putting in the TWA into the field, not when using the direction tool..

Red Eye - Myth of Malham 2025

In 1947, Hugh McLean & Sons of Gourock, Scotland built a radical racing yacht for John Illingworth, soon-to-be Commodore of the RORC, to a design by Laurent Giles. With a masthead rig, giving her ‘free’ sail area per the rules of the time, and short overhangs reducing pitching, Myth of Malham went on to win The Fastnet that year and again in 1949, and to compete in numerous Admiral's Cups. In 1958, in honour of the yacht, the Myth of Malham race was conceived - a mini-Fastnet to the first lighthouse on a rock west of Cowes, Eddystone, rather than the second, to be held in non-Fastnet years. IRL this year it has been raced already, but this stops us not from “Red Eye” racing its online 230nm in Fareast 31Rs, leaving how to deal with the Isle of Wight open to your own discretion.

Africa by Sea 2025 - Maputo to Mogadishu

The fifth leg of our exploration of Africa By Sea takes us north along the length of the Continent’s succulent sub-tropical and tropical Indian Ocean coast. Much fought over by traders and colonists both well-before and after a Portuguese expedition under the command of Vasco da Gama first sailed there from Europe back in the 16th century, it is yet to be properly explored as a yachting destination. With plenty of islands off- and inshore, small and very large, there is much to interrupt your 1900nm voyage and visit in your Swan 65, from Maputo to Mogadishu! Race #1858
