The NEW rankings by Nation (INDIVIDUAL and TEAM), introduced as test in 2018, although not generating a great deal of chat or requests for clarification MUST have been a success, if we consider that the Forum thread has been accessed over 5.000 times in less than eleven months.

For this reason the scheme will be continued (and enhanced) in 2019.

Let’s start with what continues to be valid as it was :

The Rankings by Nation thread is here in the SYC partition of the Forum because, whilst the INDIVIDUAL rankings by nation are open to everyone irrespective of membership , the TEAM ones are reserved to SYC members.

Attached underneath you find a DOCUMENT illustrating the full mechanicals of the scheme (basically it is the same Document as the 2018 one…..take a look as refresher)

At the end of each calendar month an up to date situation will be posted here for everyone to look at and start organizing improvements ! ;)

And now what is new :

At the end of each quarter the year to date situation will be made visible in Homepage , with appropriate links to the publishing area in Forum

A N D ………

In 2018 the Rankings by Nation have been only an “ informative test” carrying no rewards other than “ satisfaction “ . The 2019 ones will have prizes both for individual and Teams.

Please read underneath the mechanicals that will be used to identify the winners and the prizes they will earn!

I will publish here for everyone information the most important comments and clarification requests.

Welcome to the Chesapeake Bay, the sailing capital of the United States. Feast on Maryland crab cakes or crabs seasoned with Old Bay spice before sailing down the Bay aboard a Formula 18 catamaran on a 128 nm course that will take you up the Potomac River finishing at Quantico, Virginia. Welcome to the fourth of our nine races across the length and breadth of the Magical Mediterranean Sea, and the second that is not in partnership with a real-life event, this time for good reason, which we won’t get into here. From Tobruk to Iskenderun it’s 670nm in length, with the added complication that the island of Cyprus will be in your way. Hoping, possibly forlornly, for plenty of downwind sailing, we’ll take the Lagoon 55 for the voyage!
