The rankings by Nation (INDIVIDUAL and TEAM), introduced as test in 2018, have drawn increasing interest within the Community since, also thanks to the introduction of “prizes”. Some of the battles for final Podium have been very fierce in 2020 too.

For this reason the scheme will be continued in 2021, without changes.

The Rankings by Nation thread is here in the SYC partition of the Forum because, whilst the INDIVIDUAL rankings by Nation are open to everyone irrespective of membership , the TEAM ones are reserved to SYC members.

Attached underneath you find 2 DOCUMENTS:

One illustrates the mechanicals of the rankings scheme (by Nation both Individual and Team)

The other one illustrates the mechanicals that will lead to reward the individual SOLers (by Skipper both Individual and Team)

At the end of each calendar month an up to date situation will be posted here for everyone to look at and plan improvements ! ;)

Furthermore, at the end of each quarter the year to date situation will be made visible in Homepage , with appropriate links to the publishing area in Forum and commentary on the year to date situation and progress.

I will publish here for everyone information the most important comments and clarification requests.

NOTE :

The first race of the Tall Ships 2021 circuit , Klaipeda to Turku , starting on June the 30th will be accounted for, as to Rankings by Nation, with the July batch .

Therefore the YTD results as at end of June 2021 will be NET of the above mentioned race accruals.

The 3CR - Caen Channel Craic 2021 race , starting on August the 29th will be accounted for, as to Rankings by Nation, with the September batch due to likely late closure well into the month of September.

Therefore the YTD results as at end of August 2021 will be NET of the above mentioned race accruals.

Welcome to Liguria’s Rapallo, there where Zarathustra spoke - at length - to Nietzsche, for our first race of nine to celebrate all things Mediterranean - fickle winds, history and olive oil. A number of our races in this new Magical Mediterranean series will be partnership with famous real-life races, but this first race is pure fiction - 780nm in refurbed IMOCA 60s, past or through the Balearic Isles and on into the Alboran Sea, to a finish off Nador on the Maroc Mediterranean coast.

Cross the Convergence 2026 - Guam to Ouvéa


The third race of our series of ocean voyages across the World’s convergence zones takes us southeastward now down the Pacific, from Guam’s Apra Harbour at 13.5 degrees North, back across the Equator to the glorious New Caledonian resort island of Ouvéa, on the edge of the Tropic of Capricorn at 20.5 degrees South. It’s 2400nm, and there’s more than a few other islands in the way, so mind where you go in your Ocean 50s. Race #1981
