Thank you Kroppy, for an in-depth explanation.
    I don't consider it a problem, just a bit annoying ;-)
Your second feature options sounds great - Thanks!

OK - it's like you see 2 boats just after each other. The first boat have the small dot where the mast is supposed to be and the second boat is the "shadow". The first boat is a bit more bold.
When you point the cursor on the second boat, the boat name appear down in the left corner. It disappear shortly and become visible again.
    Both on FF and chrome.

    Hi,
Is there a way to get rid of/reduce the "shadow-effect" ??
In the flash version you just had to click on one of the other boats.

It all looks very nice and promissing - thank you both so far.
I'd like to propose a feature we have discussed a long time ago, and it's a 12 hour predictor line.
Don't know how hard it is to make, but maybe it's worth a try.

  • Boat type for Sprint series ...

Congratulations on the newly designed sprint races for Q1.
It is far beyond my understanding that you then choose a boat type like Delphia 47 to be used in the first race. After all it is a sprint race - and yes, you write that people can cruise it as well - but what is the rationale by choosing such a boat type for a sprint?

    Thanks for your reply.

I do not agree with your answer and have the following comments:

Your explanation that you want to avoid further data for the database can be fixed by replacing the existing race with a new one - and not just copying a new one!

Your arguments about the start procedure contradict you in your arguments about a hypothetical finish inside SF Bay. IRL sailors think it is just as important to get a good and fair start!
Generally speaking, I do not think SOL should design its races, based on what is found by external aids on other web pages, eg. AGL, so I do not buy that argument.

Personally, I think an offshore race should be between 2 open points (start/finish)!

Overall, there will be fewer and fewer participants for SOL so I would encourage more SOL’ers to participate in the debate on the continued development….
I can recommend making a small study of what SOL’ers think about the races, possibly wishes for new initiatives etc.

Was it really that hard to put the starting line outside Tokyo Bay so everyone gets a fair start! It is supposed to be an offshore race ….

    Good point Kipper,
In the Nordic we use 3 caracters not found international, and we translate them as follows:

    æ/ä = ae
    ø/ö = oe
    å/å = aa

Would be fine if SRC avoid theese caracters in the future.
