Board » Technical Support » Bug in the B6 Leopard Client?

Twice since the start of todays race I have found myself pointing Head to Wind, going nowhere. I have not clicked on the game or sent a command. I have switched workspaces in Leopard and come back to the client to find it has turned me head to wind.

I guess somehting I am working on in a different workspace is being transmitted to the client

This is frustrating and if it continues I will have to abandon. I was comfortably in 1st place the first time it happened and lost 20 places.

It just cost me another 40 places

We've heard this bug before and have no explanation for it. Lately it has crossed our minds that maybe the application receives input even though it's not in active? Do you think this could explain the behaviour. It's hard for us, because on the server side it looks like the client has sent a normal TWA command (=0.0), and we cannot recreate it. Also, since the majority of users seems unaffected, it could be caused by a certain combination with other software.

Try shutting the application down when not having it in the foreground and see if it helps. If it does, please report back so I can follow this up.

Kalle

I had it twice yesterday and not at all today. All that I can think is that using Leopard workspaces, some key commands I am giving to other software in another workspace are being transmitted to the B6 client causing it to turn my boat HTW

Cheers
I had it too once during friday, but using Tiger. Not using any program for other workspaces. I was switching between sailonline and Safari. The TWA box was not set to 0 but some other number (quite sure since i just pressed the send command button to start sailing again.). Could not think about any reason for it to happen.

Beketov by Balloon 2026 - In Siberia

Way-back-when France and England, and Spain as well, were squabbling about who should control what of North America, only to lose the most of it to their own insurging colonists, their eastern European neighbour empire, Russia, was quietly assimilating vast, thinly nomadically populated territory of its own – Siberia! Amongst the many explorers and adventurers that served Russia so well in these conquests was the Cossack hetman Pyotr Beketov. Let’s pretend we’re he and eschewing horseback, let’s travel by balloon from Yekaterinberg to Krasnoyarsk – just a short 2000km (1100nm) section of the Trans-Siberian Express’ 9289km!

West Papua to Oregon 2026

Our next race in our Ocean Championships is the first of a series of great natural migrations we will track in 2026. The leatherback turtle is the most widely distributed marine reptile on planet Earth, and chooses to breed in warm tropical waters, but prefers to forage in more temperate habitats, travelling thousands and thousands of miles effortlessly annually to maintain this way of life. Our race will follow one of the typical trips of this turtle, from breeding grounds in the seas off West Papua to the coast of Oregon. It’s only 5900nm, so to keep up, but in comfort, we’ll follow in our Gunboat 90.
