That was already done too :-) I happened to be reading emails when the thread-alert message came through! Can't promise to always be so prompt :-)
RC, the race is PERFECT now.
You're GREAT!!!
Thanks you very much.
:)
If you want, ask me what you think could be nice and interesting for the presentation and I'll prepare for SOL
:)
Anchoilla - I will shortly be closing your race as it is now set up and it needs to be archived.

As for the homepage information, if you look back through the different entries, perhaps we can come up with a nice picture (from your files or a photo) and then write a little about the area/course where we will be sailing.

It is not urgent for now but would be good to have it drafted and ready :-) Your proposal already has all the information, so the piece perhaps needs only to be a few sentences taken from that?

:-)

Once you have a draft I am obviously happy to help tidy it if you think that is needed.
HI RC,
I think we have the reace ready to be archived (thank you for giving me the opportunity to test it) Everything is all right.

I'm sending you some pics. Perhaps they are good to give an idea how the island is.
Here is a link to some Formentera's video, although there's not much sailing in it.

If you want, we may take some lines from the pdf I sent you in the beginning. But if you prefer it, tell me how long has to be the text and I write it talking about you think could be interesting.

Hola Anchoilla - just looking ahead to the June calendar and the 24th is a Monday so.. are you OK if we start the race on the evening of Friday, 21st June?

:-)
Hi RC,
since the race is held in Europe, better it starts daylight.
Then, a good chance should be saturday 22th, at 9 or 10 UTC.
But if SOL thinks is better another date and hour, I accept it.
Thanks
Hope you are ready ... I will be putting your race on the homepage shortly!

We are, as you will have seen, starting on Friday morning (21st June) for two reasons (1) there is another race starting on Sunday and I would like your race to get good focus, and (2) the forecast is currently quite light and folks in other timezones need a chance to complete it over their weekends too!

I will now prepare something for the Homepage, linking to your introduction and artwork :-)
Due to popular demand the race is moved to the start date/time you originally wanted.. 1000utc on Saturday 22 June :-D

Red Eye - Myth of Malham 2025

In 1947, Hugh McLean & Sons of Gourock, Scotland built a radical racing yacht for John Illingworth, soon-to-be Commodore of the RORC, to a design by Laurent Giles. With a masthead rig, giving her ‘free’ sail area per the rules of the time, and short overhangs reducing pitching, Myth of Malham went on to win The Fastnet that year and again in 1949, and to compete in numerous Admiral's Cups. In 1958, in honour of the yacht, the Myth of Malham race was conceived - a mini-Fastnet to the first lighthouse on a rock west of Cowes, Eddystone, rather than the second, to be held in non-Fastnet years. IRL this year it has been raced already, but this stops us not from “Red Eye” racing its online 230nm in Fareast 31Rs, leaving how to deal with the Isle of Wight open to your own discretion.

Africa by Sea 2025 - Maputo to Mogadishu

The fifth leg of our exploration of Africa By Sea takes us north along the length of the Continent’s succulent sub-tropical and tropical Indian Ocean coast. Much fought over by traders and colonists both well-before and after a Portuguese expedition under the command of Vasco da Gama first sailed there from Europe back in the 16th century, it is yet to be properly explored as a yachting destination. With plenty of islands off- and inshore, small and very large, there is much to interrupt your 1900nm voyage and visit in your Swan 65, from Maputo to Mogadishu! Race #1858
