Board » Technical Support » Arbitrary changes to course

I have been finding that my course has been changed without my participation a number of times during this Leapfrog race. I set a TWA course, switch off my monitor screen, and return to it some hours later, to find the notice of the new Wx. When I check my course, I find that I have been turned by about 90 degrees, and have lost places etc.
Please check this over the last several hours, and determine if I actually gave such a command.
If it breaks, it's not strong enough--if it doesn't, it's too heavy.
Hi Rod,
try this:
http://sol.hmm.iki.fi/sollog/races/
lots of data with 1 hour intervals
The data Rod need is "What command caused the course change, when was it sent, from where was it sent". I'm sure Rod already knows that the course change happened, and when it happened, but not why. I don't think hmm's site will help Rod.

Rod: Are you sure it wasn't a forgotten DC? Could there be someone else that hit a wrong button on your computer? Are you sure it wasn't a wrong command from your side?
Not sure of anything, but examine my course back a few hours and you will see unexplained squiggles... It may be due to the timing of clicking on a new course, but not correctly, so that moving the cursor is actually changing the course before it reaches the command box. I will check my "clicking timing".
If it breaks, it's not strong enough--if it doesn't, it's too heavy.
Hi Rod,

I have verified that all the latest commands in Leapfrog have come from the same computer address and none of them have been delayed.

So from server side everything seems to be OK.
Must be me then... I am adjusting my "click" speed settings so maybe will 'click' on a new course with more certainty.
Many thanks for your efforts.

Red Eye - Myth of Malham 2025

In 1947, Hugh McLean & Sons of Gourock, Scotland built a radical racing yacht for John Illingworth, soon-to-be Commodore of the RORC, to a design by Laurent Giles. With a masthead rig, giving her ‘free’ sail area per the rules of the time, and short overhangs reducing pitching, Myth of Malham went on to win The Fastnet that year and again in 1949, and to compete in numerous Admiral's Cups. In 1958, in honour of the yacht, the Myth of Malham race was conceived - a mini-Fastnet to the first lighthouse on a rock west of Cowes, Eddystone, rather than the second, to be held in non-Fastnet years. IRL this year it has been raced already, but this stops us not from “Red Eye” racing its online 230nm in Fareast 31Rs, leaving how to deal with the Isle of Wight open to your own discretion.

Africa by Sea 2025 - Maputo to Mogadishu

The fifth leg of our exploration of Africa By Sea takes us north along the length of the Continent’s succulent sub-tropical and tropical Indian Ocean coast. Much fought over by traders and colonists both well-before and after a Portuguese expedition under the command of Vasco da Gama first sailed there from Europe back in the 16th century, it is yet to be properly explored as a yachting destination. With plenty of islands off- and inshore, small and very large, there is much to interrupt your 1900nm voyage and visit in your Swan 65, from Maputo to Mogadishu! Race #1858
