Will there be an overall rating for the entire race? I have raced every leg, although not every inport and wondered how I rank.

Then I noticed that you are not yet a member of the SYC, and his ranking is only for SYC members. You should join. It's only $35. It helps support SOL and it's really cheap for all the hours of fun SOL affords us.

So it's really true that the only way to find out your standing in the ocean race is to be a member? Are non-members included in that standing - if not then it's an honest ranking. I'm sorry that I cannot afford the money right now, but it sounds like even if I joined, it would be too late to be ranked. So in reality, whenever you are being beaten by a nonmember, don't worry because it won't count against your ranking (just phantom boats at sea). I raced all 10 of them, and I think I did pretty well overall, but I guess I will never know. I will probably not race on SOL again.
I don't mean to seem ungrateful, because I am, but I am disappointed. I thought of the Ocean Race as one entity and that SOL would rank all boats at the end of it, like they do with individual races. Racing on SOL for the last 18 months has been the only time in my life that I have been competitive and it doesn't seem to bring out the best of me. Thank you guys for all your graciousness and good spirits. Gybe ho!

I did my own math. My lowest 7 races put me at total 421, which would have been #32 in club ranking, 3rd highest American. Now I feel better! Fair winds all.

Regata dell’Accademia Navale 2026

Welcome to Sailonline’s partnership with the City of Livorno (Leghorn say the English) in cooperation with the local yacht clubs and the Italian Navy, offering all the online opportunity to race the famous Regata dell’Accademia Navale - 630nm in length. Starting and finishing in Livorno, this year the race takes you the length and breadth of the Tyrrhenian Sea via little Mortorio (Mortoriotto) off Sardinia to Capri and home again to Livorno. This race also counts towards Sailonline’s Magical Mediterranean Series and the SuperBuddy title. Online, you will be sailing a Mini 6.50, to give you a match against several of the real-life entrants, which you will be able to track on-screen!

Rommel by Balloon 2026 - Through the Sahara


Generalfeldmarschall Johannes Erwin Eugen Rommel may have been that chivalrous, gallant tank commander of legend, led astray by the Prussian military traditions of loyalty and chain of command, but one thing he wasn’t, was mad. So, let’s do it anyway – not stick to the coast and the battle for logistical superiority – but depart the oases of Siwa south west into the desert for Agadez and its uranium. And let’s go by balloon, it’s only 2500km (1250nm)!
