Bonjour Do!

---------------------

Good morning Do!

Thank you for your comments - I am going to read it immediately!!
Voici mes conclusions:

1. Courdouan - bien sur.

Donnez-moi votre avis, svp.

----------------------------
Here are my comments:

1. Courdouan - of course.

2. Without a waypoint on Ile de Re, passing it on either side is already permitted.

3. More difficult to do. To make the rhumbline go north of Drenec it is necessary to delete the waypoint of Ile de Groix. Otherwise, you can add a waypoint (which i have done for you to see) at phare des moutons, but I think this makes the course unnecessarily complicated to sail.

4. The arrival at Brest that you can see now (I removed the Point Mathieu waypoint) is the best that can be done within the restrictions of how SOL sets up races.

Please let me know what you think?

Hello RC
I carefully read your conclusions regarding changes required and what suits me except the passage of the Isle of Re I therefore propose that as indicated in the attached image.
Thank you for your attention, your kindness, and most importantly, your patience
with me ....

Salut Do!

Je me suis trompee.

----------------------------
Hi Do!

My mistake, I had thought you wanted boats to be able to go both sides of the Ile de Re.

I am going to fix that later on!

The last thing to consider...is that the track is quite constrained because of all the waypoints, thus is may well be that there will be a procession from Royan to Brest with those using softward in front and the rest trailing behind...sometimes choice of rounding makes for a more interesting race.

But, this is your race, so I will make it as you wish!!

:-)

While this one is still up for viewing as sol, there are a few roundings in this race that have the potential to cause boil-overs in chat. The three that need the most thought are:

Ouessant - is sitting offshore just enough that boats will sneak through. If the intention is to round the island we can nudge it a bit. If we're rounding shy of the the Island suggest moving it a bit further out so that the gap is clear.

Ile de Sein and Drenec are both Island-Hop candidates with gains big enough to rile the fleet.

Looks like quite the race. I like the 60' tri.
76T - please would you put your comments in French for Do?

Merci / Thank you for reviewing the race :-)

My English is what it is, I have trouble understanding the meaning of 76Trombone past interventions. I use Google translation to read or write on your site...
For cons, I agree undo my last change to the island of Ré and leave the choice of moving to south or north of this island.
Send me the new track please.
thank you all

YAY!!! :-D

Transat à Deux 2025

Above you see a single-handed sailor semi-foiling his Beneteau Figaro III to the horizon. It is in fact Ireland’s Sailor of the Year and the overall winner of last year’s Solitaire du Figaro, Tom Dolan. Somehow, we got our hands on a polar for the Class, and rather than trying to surreptitiously track Tom and his mates in the 2025 edition of the Solitaire, sailing rather-short, single-handed legs across the Celtic Sea and Biscay, we thought we’d see how our virtual craft would fare on the Class’s double-handed 3900nm Trans-Atlantic, from somewhere in Brittanny to somewhere in the Caribbean via somewhere in the Canaries. Allez, mes braves!

Sinbad by Balloon 2025 - Toamasina to Baia de l'Oiseau

You may recall that when last we visited Madagascar in the company of Sinbad, the Sultan commanded our intrepid inspirator to seek out fabled islands where in Summer the sun barely set. We did and we returned but the Sultan wasn’t happy with Sinbad’s report, so here we go again, now by SOL Balloon instead of sailing vessel. Expect to be in the air for at least 2100nm and depending on how the wind brings us, anything between two weeks and two months before we shall descend at the Sultan’s given coordinates!
