Hi all,
since i'm planning to do my first RL race as skipper, i'm wondering wether there is a SOL flag one can fly, and since SOL is my only YC, if i can enter SOL as my Yacht Club in the forms...
(Yes, i've seen, there are Tshirts, caps an bears, but since spreadshirt offers no flags, i'd have to copy the sol emblem and cut&sew my own flag)

I don't think there is a SOL Flag at the Moment, but that may change pretty quick if the gods consider a demand in that. ;-)

The question if you can Start as a SYC-Member is a bit more difficult...

Most Races are held by Yachtclubs and most of these YC's are members of the ISAF (International Sailing Federation). So most Races are held under the ISAF Rules.

One of these rules is that the Skipper has to be Member of an ISAF-Club, although this Rule may not be forced on all races, specially on smaller Ones.

As the ISAF has no Department for virtual Sailing the SYC is probably not a Member of the ISAF and i'm pretty sure there is no chance to change this at the Moment.

So being a SYC-Member is not sufficient to meet the ISAF-Membership-Rule in RL-racing.
I would suggest to ask if this ISAF-Rule is forced before entering a RL-race or considering to become a Member of an ISAF-Club to meet this Rule.

Nevertheless you may fly the SYC-Flag under your portside-Spreader, as there are no limitations what to fly there.
You may also enter the SYC in the Entryform as an additional Club or if the Rule isn't forced.

Yes, that's the case here too, the race will be the 'La duecento' the YC is the 'Circulo nautico PS Margherita' http://www.cnsm.org/ and the ISAF Rules for offshore Cat 3 apply.

Natuna Sea Race 2026


At 4.0N 108.2E lies the island of Natuna Besar, Great Natuna, surrounded by at least 154 islands, of which 127 uninhabited, Indonesia’s Natuna Regency, and all around this archipelago, the Natuna Sea, bordered by Borneo to the east, the Java Sea to the south, and the Malay peninsula to the west, and extending north to cross a disputed international border with China into the South China Sea.
