    OK Bimmer. That is great news. I will sign op for SYC now.
  • <b> Volvo Ocean Race 2017/2018 possible?<b>
    Board » Flag Officers » Race Calendar
    I have participated in all past virtual volvo ocean races, The coming edition seems to take place without a vritual version. Would it be possible to add this to the race schedule on such a short notice ? I volunteer to complete a race proposal if it makes a chance, after becoming a SYC member off course.

    Tnks kroppyer for your reaction.
    It is as you say. This resembles reality.
    I was attrackted by the high wind speeds of the depression, but development of it changed, as usual. I had no chance at all to avoid the blue gue afterwards.
    I am having thoughts to write my own router. But that won't change reality.

    differs from the wind information in the gribviewer, which uses the file from

    gribview TWD 120 TWS 5.3KT

    Meanwhile I have read that there are differences. The effect is that my routing software sends me in the wrong direction.
    How do other SOL users handle this situation ?

    My current boatname is :PietD
    Can you please change it to :Armchairsailor
    ==============
    I suppose that after the change I will need to log in by that name.
    ====
    I did not realize that the account name I chose will be used as boat name.
    I suggest that you one time include a feature to select the boat name apart from the account name. I have seen multiple users that wanted to change it after registration.
    I understand that it does not make sense to change it after doing many races, but in real life people occasionally acquire another boat as well.
    Greetings: Piet van den Donker

Mistli's Birthday BBQ Race 2025

Welcome to one of Sailonline's great traditions - the ofttimes slightly untimely celebration of SOLer Mistli's birthday on November 1, by way of a tricky race through the Stockholm Archipelago. To match the day that’s in it, this year correctly, we are providing you with a fleet of sleek 11 metre 1-designs (get it?) to slice through these (at least) 61.5nm of SLI-infested waters, and give you a fair chance that there will still be some beer left by the time you moor up by the jetty at Trosa!

Sinbad by Balloon 2025 - Carnarvon to Dondra

From here, our home in Bharatavarṣa is now north west of us – said Sinbad to his fellow balloonists. Perhaps we can ride the wind first further north, and then catch the winds that every year bring the rain, perhaps not. It’s 2600nm and we could be aloft awhile, so, Master el-Quarters, victuals only, no sandbags, provisioning the giant hamper. It will be not a picnic!
