little bug in FIRST SERVER TEST ... if you set a DC writing "start" in the DC field doesn't work ...
C.A.
I humbly apologize ... it's obvious that "start" doesn't work if the race has already started ...

C.A.
Possible problem with the Leaderboard. I finished in 5h 32m and am shown as 15th, which was my position on the boat list. The other finishers shown ahead of me took 7h 40m to 7h 57m to finish, yet are shown as 1,2,3rd.
P.S. Now the boat list shows 1st, while LB still shows 15th.
P.P.S...Now all is as it should be ! WE'RE Number ONE!!!

If it breaks, it's not strong enough--if it doesn't, it's too heavy.
Rod, as I am writing this you are first in both the client leaderboard and website. It takes some time for the results to update after finish so I assume you were just bit impatient?

The timed race leaderboard on website is currently not showing the boats on track, I will look into this later.

First server test

Thanks for pointing this out, I will investigate it.
Addendum:

For those who are following this discussion but may not be familiar with some of the acronyms is use. "DNS" ~ stands for Domain Name Server which simply identifies a Server by its assigned Name and applies the actual Number for that specific server.

Usually ISPs use a designated DNS to provide this service but this can also be a bottleneck which slows down response times which is why it is also possible to specify an alternate DNS that does this more efficiently instead or to create an internal list to do this for places that you frequent often, skipping the need for a DNS altogether, for these few exceptions.

Even the best DNSs can go down or not be updated & current so keep a side list on hand just in case.

None so blind
Hi hmm,

In the advert bar at the bottom of the screen, IE is not picing up the pics related to the adverts (they are replaced with the square box thing). Firefox at work picked them up ok tho.
Sunday 6.44am Z Tried a number of times to enter a new course (CC not TWA) of 122 in the Atlantic Circle race using the wheel on the left of screen. I kept getting an error message saying 122 was not a valid course entry (need value between 1-360). 122 was showing in the course entry box on the right. In the end IO had to clear this box, then manually enter 122 to get the course change to fire.
I think I have seen both the issue of ads not displaying always properly and the client issue with having to clear the cc or twa box completely before it accepts a value earlier as well.

While both of the issues are things that we should probably investigate and fix, I don't think they have been caused by the server transfer.

Melbourne to Osaka Prelude 2024

Welcome once again to what these days is Sailonline’s almost annual virtual Melbourne to Osaka Yacht Race. In real life, this double-handed 5500 nm race between these two sister cities, one deep in the southern hemisphere, the other high in the northern hemisphere, is run every four to five years, and is planned to be held again in 2025, so this race is a Prelude in partnership with the Melbourne Osaka Cup 2025 organising committee collaborating with the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria (ORCV), and the Sandringham (SYC) and Osaka Hokko (OHYC) yacht clubs. On this occasion, we’ll be racing the well-known First 40, a popular size of boat for a long-distance double-handed race. With the doldrums unavoidably lying across the track, you can expect to be at virtual sea for at least a month!
