Great guys :-) but what about the port for brainaids NMEA proxy? It's automatically set to 5010, but I'm shure I cant use the same port if I have 2 or 3 races to run simultaniously, or what?

Viva all.

Installed the new qT version (5.3.9) and the only big difference I’ve noticed was the Polar display bug that was solved.

Still remaining the old problems of:

1 - Over decimating waypoints during the “Simplifying” process;
2 - Increased ETA after the “Simplifying” process;
3 - Idem, after “Optimizing”;
4 - Tacks/gybes times under the specified times in the “Boat settings” menu.

There’s no other way to say it.
Again frustrating, because it takes almost the same time as the routing calculation to correct all the bad “curves” generated after the “Simpl./Opt” processes.
Sail Fair.
I'm trying to understand what 'simplifying' means. If it's deleting poi's that are within a certain margin not leading to a different heading then indicated by the surrounding poi's then this simplifying would just cause less poi's. This is not the same as a decreased ETA. If you then optimize these simplified poi's series I can imagine that this optimization of 'errors' brought in by the simplification again can do unexpected things with ETA.

Why would you try to 'simplify' JB.
Could you not first 'optimize' and then 'simplify' the exported csv by yourself?
deleting same TWA's and or same headings?

I'm trying to get a better understanding of what a router does. Hence these questions.

Simplifying has 2 modes: optimum and maximum. Optimum keeps more points and is slower to run. Maximum will try hard to remove a maximum number of points. Maximum mode might even increase slightly ETA.

If "optimum" looses time (ETA) then it's a bug. Please provide necessary information to fix it since I didn't succeed to reproduce it.

Also explain and provide examples for the "time to tack" issue your are mentioning.
Beware a new qtVlm version is due in the coming days. To avoid frustration again better provide some more info on existing problems, or they will stay as they are once more ;)
Viva all.

Tomorrow is holiday here. So, next day i'll send you examples Phillipe.

Big hug.
Sail Fair.
A new (short) beta version has been released (http://www.virtual-winds.org/forum/index.php?/topic/7575-qtvlm/&do=findComment&comment=269357). Please try to test it before release.
Viva Philippe.

Bon jour.

E-mail sent with first tests results.

A Big Hug.
Sail Fair.

Red Eye - Melville Island PYOC 2026

Melville Island is the largest of the Tivi group opposite the port of Darwin in the Timor Sea. Tropically forested and thinly populated, not a lot goes on there, but let’s race around it anyway, lar- or starboard round, it’s a little more than 120nm, so, no matter where you are navigating from on the planet, you will be hard-pressed to complete the course aboard your J-80 in daylight hours!
