Not sure if Beta client development is still ongoing or code streamlining is the focus, but might I suggest that "Tabbed" boat lists be adopted to conserve space for the Leaderboard.

Issues with Beta

Ahoi Fabulous engineroom-Gods !

Today I had the same failure with beta as in the beginning when it did not start - in the middle of practice race. Swiched to old client to finish race. After race I had to clear flash cache and restart browser, then it worked again.
So I thought to myself when beta gets main client could we keep old client ( maybe as "?old=true" ) as last resort rescue in tight racing conditions if beta blows up ?

Cheers, Roland, Stoertebaeker..

OS - Debian GNU / Linux wheezy/sid

Do you mean the client itself would not start?

Yes,the client did not start.Screen showed the progress bar, then stopped and said RSL error 3 of 3....

Just had the time to try all the new beta-gadgets. WOW! Agage: you read my secret thoughts! :-P I hope I still will be able to sail instead of just playing around....

Two things I would like to have changed:

- at the forecast-slider: the WX-mark could have a different colour

- the personalized fleet feature: why not replacing the DTG with a Distance-To-MyBoat? Or simply add that...

Thanks a lot for that brilliant work

StuArt

Ahoi AAron !

A interesting new feature of the new client is that Chinese chatroom is only asessible via old client, as we found out today...

Cheers, Roland

<<DO NOT USE FOR NAVIGATION>>
Yes this was a deliberate decision by the Admin team.
Technically the Chinese and Polish rooms still exist, they are just not listed in the dropdown (so in-accessible) - and we have the possibility to use them for special purposes for special races (like for a yacht club from a large 'buddy up' race or something)

Can you look at my wake and tell me why the "Two Rock" mark in the "Perth ISAF Fleet Race" practice sailing was Not rounded. If I zoom in it seems like I met my "port requirements... is this a problem with the beta client???
Do you mean to say that it still shows as 'Leave to Port' ??
That is because mark roundings are only scored in the real race.
The other client version will be the same

Thanks Aaron, Your work is outstanding!!!!

I was concerned as I sailed south past the mark that my boat position(in the standings) was climbing and I was losing positions. That is what made me think I hadn't rounded the mark and then as I sailed north back toward the mark my boat position started to drop again.

Thanks again for your help.

Rommel by Balloon 2026 - Through the Sahara

Generalfeldmarschall Johannes Erwin Eugen Rommel may have been that chivalrous, gallant tank commander of legend, led astray by the Prussian military traditions of loyalty and chain of command, but one thing he wasn’t, was mad. So, let’s do it anyway – not stick to the coast and the battle for logistical superiority – but depart the oases of Siwa south west into the desert for Agadez and its uranium. And let’s go by balloon, it’s only 2500km (1250nm)!

It’s one of the longer ones 6400nm, more than half way around the world (and the Antarctica). It starts the 2026 OCQ2, and will be sailed in our Steinlager 2, contrary to prior notice.
