Conyo here, steering for shearwater in the first part of the Transat while he is on vacation. Any chance of making the race viewer have a name at the top? Otherwise I am searching for who is who when 2 screens are open, or going back to the main page to find out what name I am logged in under. Don't want him beating me up because I have done something crazy with his boat intead of my own... thanks.

    Hello!

My boat has stopped... I finished the race, and when I sailed through the finish line without sticking to it, I realized I missed the first mark. I tried to make another lap, and now I am frozen. What can I do??

You are a genius! (I did not have the time zone set correctly)

I have been trying to join SYC but it does not like my Spanish Bancaja visa electron card. I'll have to find a different way to contribute... maybe give you some cash in Stockholm next June.

Hello... No don't know what solved it, but I suspect it was the Cape Town server timing out or something. Now in Hamble and all seems perfect. I expect the internet in Cochin will be a shocker though!

One thing is that the UTC is 8 hours off on my screen. Anybody else have this anomaly??

    Solved itself...

Thanks... I'm doing that already actally. I am beginning to suspect the local server isn't all it could be.

I am having trouble with both the old client and the new one. The new one is permanently "waiting for weather data" and shows no boats, chat, or map. I am in Cape Town at the moment, and don't know if it is this African Server, or a different problem.

The old client says "Internal server error" sometimes, and other times gives the map, but with no boat or weather data.

    Anybody having the same trouble?

May Transat is my first race, and having lots of fun!

Another ruler tool in a different colour would be nice to help plan different possible routes. Sometimes my screen ends up covered with useless black lines around the screen perimeter just so I can get back to the boat to start plotting another possible course. That ruler tool is very usefull!!

Also it would be nice to have "Hours ahead" in the weather slider as well as the time. As it is now, it is difficult to keep track of present time, future time, number of hours ahead, and distance when making a plan.

Thanks, it is a great game!

Melbourne to Osaka Prelude 2024

Welcome once again to what these days is Sailonline’s almost annual virtual Melbourne to Osaka Yacht Race. In real life, this double-handed 5500 nm race between these two sister cities, one deep in the southern hemisphere, the other high in the northern hemisphere, is run every four to five years, and is planned to be held again in 2025, so this race is a Prelude in partnership with the Melbourne Osaka Cup 2025 organising committee collaborating with the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria (ORCV), and the Sandringham (SYC) and Osaka Hokko (OHYC) yacht clubs. On this occasion, we’ll be racing the well-known First 40, a popular size of boat for a long-distance double-handed race. With the doldrums unavoidably lying across the track, you can expect to be at virtual sea for at least a month!
