Well done Rainbow - very well written and you could tell that it came from the heart. I too felt saddened that we were forced to cease sailing yesterday. I logged onto the VR site & was amazed to see how much they were charging for each add-on. I was also one of those ghost boats after just one leg of the VORG (I couldn't take it there anymore sailing blind)- SOL is so much better in my opinion. I live in Cork, so maybe instead of a F---N-- (is it trademarked?)race, we could race to Cork & back :-).

I still have reservations on the DNF points given. Should someone who made a huge effort for the last 5 weeks on Leg 5 but finished in the bottom half of the race be given more points than someone who just set a course on a Saturday race & then didn't check it again?
btw, my husbands 4th higest race in the rankings is one that he didn't even register for.
I got more points for a DNS & DNF than I did coming 317 in leg 4.
    It just doesn't seem right

    Hi all

I'd just like to hear comments on the new ranking system.
I don't understand why points are given on a DNS or even on a DNF. It seems to award no effort.
Also, it was nice to see the dates of the races shown in the old system - maybe we could have something set up when we click our profiles to show the races we've done in date order & the points given.
However, at least the new system seems to show the latest top winners at a more correct place in the rankings, which is good.
I'm new to all this so other peoples views would be great to hear.
    Thanks all

Tobruk to Iskenderun 2026

Welcome to the fourth of our nine races across the length and breadth of the Magical Mediterranean Sea, and the second that is not in partnership with a real-life event, this time for good reason, which we won’t get into here. From Tobruk to Iskenderun it’s 670nm in length, with the added complication that the island of Cyprus will be in your way. Hoping, possibly forlornly, for plenty of downwind sailing, we’ll take the Lagoon 55 for the voyage!

Tasmania to Kamchatka 2026

Welcome to yet another all-new route. Tasmania to Kamchatka, part of our Ocean Championship and also the third leg of the ROW (Round the Old World) series. Be aware of the obstacles on the way, likely to split the fleet. It's like X:mas to X:mas, crossing the same waters, navigating the same archipelagos. This second race of OCQ2 2026 will be sailed in our revised 'version 2' Imoca 60 Foil. Race #2031
