Good evening I am al53 and I ask your experience for a solution ..... Sometimes Qt is able to recover the WP settings of the race from the Brainaid data files ...... which is the Qt setting to set because this is it automatic ????? sorry my non-academic english ...... Thank you and Good Wind .....
Alberto M.
Hello ... I reply my previous request ... Does anyone know how to load in QtVLM, the coordinates of the WPs exposed in chart and info of Brainaid automatically ... ???? Thank you
Alberto M.
I don't know how to do that from brainaid but it is possible to load marks from a gpx file that agl generates.

Are you also using Kipper's "DC Checker" ?
Good morning Master Bimmer.
Yes, I use AGL with difficulty due to the language and to the fact that I am "a sailor with feet of lead".
But I understand that the data is transmitted to Qt by Nemea AGL and not Brainaid ....... Is it correct ????? Thank you ...
Alberto M.
Yes, that's correct.
Just ask me, if you need more info.
Hi guys,
I encountered a bug which I can reproduce with the attached NMEA feed file. To reproduce, do the following.
1. Setup the NMEA feed to use the file
2. Start NMEA
3. Once the boat has started moving, you should now notice an erroneous trace line extending from the boat to the top left hand corner of the screen. If not, pan the screen.
4. Zoom and pan a few times. This action causes the crash.
5. Turn the NMEA feed off, and you can zoom and pan with no issues.

The erroneous trace shows irrespective of if traces are displayed or not (I tried turning display traces off to see if it made a difference)

I suspect it may be caused by the 180E/W issue, as we have just crossed 180E (180W).

Please let me know if you need any addition information or data.

Thanks
Andrew

In qtVlm under Configurations/NMEA Connections, make sure "Treat RMB messages(WP)" is checked. If the waypoint information is sent in the NMEA feed, qtVlm will then load them. If it is not checked, they are ignored.
Since I don't experience any problems I believe the solution might be simple.
QT is drawing a trace line that apparently causes the issue.
1. Click on the boat icon in the upper right corner to open the microboard.
2. In microboard/position, click on "Reset track".
3. Click "Boat" to get the drop down menu and set a check mark in "Pause track recording".

I believe that should do it.
Thanks Andrew for reporting this so precisely.
It's fixed and will be in the next version, soon.
Philippe

Great Bear Ice Race 2025

You can fly to Great Bear Lake Airport, but if the ice is good, instead hire a pick-up truck, load your disassembled DN into the cargo bed and drive, first following the McKenzie River north, and then straight across the lake to the start of our final Ice Boat series race of roughly 100nm in length. The Airport authorities have agreed to leave all lights on, so you should just about be able to see where you are going as you zing and rumble, PL-free over the ice!

Chile Islands RTI Sprint 2025

Across the Canal Puyuhuapi from Puerto Cines on the Chilean mainland lies the Parque Nacional Isla Magdelena, and further west across the Canal Moraleda from Magdelena lie the islands of the Chonos Archipelago. Returning for the first time since 2017 we find ourselves in vari-charted waters here, with the mapping between physical islands and their names not 1:1 but rather some:some. It’s only 26nm but you could get lost! Good luck.

Christmas to Christmas Island 2025

Two waypoints, start and finish, and between them 5827 NM of two oceans. Not much time if we want to sit at the Christmas Eve table. You will need to maintain an average speed of over 10 knots, maybe quite possible with this Maxi Trimaran, but prepare your vessel well and choose the best of the many possible routes. Hands up everyone who knew there were TWO Christmas Islands?! OK, maybe you have sailed this Sailonline course before... but it's time to get ready for the 2025 challenge of racing between Christmas Island in the Pacific to Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean! It also marks the conclusion of our prestigious Ocean Race Championship 2025. Please have fun! Fair winds!

Sinbad by Balloon 2025 - Carnarvon to Dondra

From here, our home in Bharatavarṣa is now north west of us – said Sinbad to his fellow balloonists. Perhaps we can ride the wind first further north, and then catch the winds that every year bring the rain, perhaps not. It’s 2600nm and we could be aloft awhile, so, Master el-Quarters, victuals only, no sandbags, provisioning the giant hamper. It will be not a picnic!
