I have just moved your post to the thread discussing this issue for convenience.

This is an occasional problem that occurs from time to time for no identifiable reason.

This is how to fix it:

QUOTE
If you get this error, either after updating Flash or after emptying your Flash cache (or after some other update) this is what you need to do.

1. Click on the SOL Classic Client in the race description.

2. Once in the race, change the end of the url from /?version=classic to /?beta=true

THEN

3. Next time just click on Go To Race in the usual fashion.

It only happens occasionally but when it does it is v irritating!

Hope this helps!
every time i clean the mac, it happens again, and i have to do it over, and when i first run the classic version, the file name does not say /?version=classic
the file name stops with .....run/624 , and thats it, so i just have
like this . http://www.sailonline.org/windy/run/624/
to ad behind that ..../?beta=true
line and it works. until i run nye cleaning proem. Mackeeper.

Finally found this answer and it works!
Manny thanks, alpi.
I bought a new computer and finally managed to replicate the problem with it myself.

I now believe I have found the cause of this problem and fixed it, if anyone still experiences this please tell us.
hmm
i will check tomorrow, every time i run my Mackeeper, and clean the mac, i have to do this, will come back. Geir ove
Do it today.
I also use a Mac, albeit with a Legacy operating system OS X Tiger (10.4.11), & when I use a similar maintenance utility as Careka has cited that performs deep cleaning of system & user caches I would routinely encounter the RSL/FLEX stumbling block which required the /?beta=true appendage to resolve.

Prompted by this thread I did this procedure again today & was able to load a race that successfully completed without any errors although it does typically take longer the 1st time which is normal.

Death to the RSL/FLEX Error !

None so blind
Same here, Hmm fixed it. Bravo.. and thanks.
and i use OS X 10.9.1

Do it today.
OK, classic client now also fails.
No working client anymore for me. 64 bit Linux firefox. beta=true doesn't help.

Update:
Seems to work in Chrome. Chrome has a built-in flash player version 12.0.0.41. Firefox only has the "standard" linux version 11.2.202.335. So this issue appears to be related to the flash player version.

SlasV - linux 64bit here too, all works fine (firefox+chromium). I have flash v11.2.202.335 as well.

How does the fail show? RSL error?

Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Yacht Race 2026

When the winter weather turns cool in southern Australia, sailors head up to the warmer tropics. Sailors from all over the world make their way to The Great Barrier Reef for the big winter regattas at Hamilton Island, Airlie Beach and Magnetic Island.
This year's B2K will start on 20 June to offer an event suited to a broader range of boats. Sailonline is, once again, joining with the racers from RQYS to race the 343 nautical miles from Brisbane to Keppel Island, this time in our First 44.7. It might be winter down under, but all you will need is shorts and t-shirts.

Newport Bermuda Race 2026

The 636-mile Newport Bermuda Race is one of the oldest regularly scheduled ocean races, and with the Fastnet and the Sydney Hobart Race, it is one of the three great classic races of the yachting world. First raced in 1906, now in its 54th biennial, the Race can again also be participated in online. In real life, the race is open to entry in four different division – Double-Handed, St. David's Lighthouse, Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, and Finisterre Division – which in the past we have also offered online. This year, however, our online race will be all-in one-design in silky swift Club Swan 50 yachts, so that your results can count towards SOL’s SUPerBUDdy title, whilst hopefully still giving you a chance of overall line honours against the fastest yachts of the real-life Gibbs Hill Division, especially if you can find some forecast winds that don’t quite work out that way on the real water!
